This renovation and revitalization of a vintage Motor Inn in Lansing Michigan aims to address the housing shortage at Michigan State University. The House concept is to provide the amenities of a traditional home on a large scale. The project included the complete renovation of the existing wings to accommodate 104 Units and a connected new 4 storey building for an additional 56 Units. With a mix of Studios, 1, 2, 3 and 4 Bedroom unit types, the facility was able to offer a variety of housing opportunities. The Units are supported by common Living & Study areas, a Theater, Game Rooms, Bicycle storage, Fitness Center, indoor Pool and outdoor activity areas.
The original design and aesthetics of the Motor Inn are celebrated and updated to create a modern facility true to its past.
